At Accent Communications we give every single client the personal touch . . . always. Heading up the team are Sarah Winstone and Janet Burns, who manage all client relations.
A career in marketing started in New York where she trained as an advertising media buyer. Returning to the UK, she worked for McCann Erickson and IPC Magazines as Advertisement Manager of a major consumer title before focusing on public relations. Since, Sarah has worked in-house and at Account Director level in small and mainstream PR agencies, run her own PR business and freelanced until teaming up with Janet Burns and Accent Communications.
Sarah is a specialist in lifestyle, fashion and travel. She has worked on well-known high street brands that include Yves Saint Laurent, Timberland, L A Gear, Schwarzkopf, River Island and Hoffman La-Roche pharmaceuticals.
Janet Burns MCIPR set up Accent Communications in 1999. But she first worked in PR and communication in France, where she lived for over 19 years. She studied at Bordeaux University’s Institute of Oenology and is a specialist in wine PR.
Janet’s wide PR experience includes being the first communication co-ordinator for Saint-Emilion wines. As a freelance PR consultant in Bordeaux, she worked with producers as well as with organisations such as SOPEXA, The Interprofessional Council for Bordeaux Wines (CIVB) and the Quebec Liquor Board (SAQ). She has also lectured on wine marketing at leading business schools in Bordeaux and has taught at Bordeaux University.
Janet is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
